LA Times photographer Francine Orr narrates this Flash presentation of her pictures showing the atrocities being committed against civilians in northern Uganda.

They've been caught in the middle of a brutal civil war between a rebel group (the Lord's Resistance Army) and the government.

Though we urge you to watch this presentation and educate yourself on what's going on there, we must warn you that these photos are very graphic.

Ryan Spencer Reed, 26, traveled to Sudan to bear witness to the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. He now has launched a traveling exhibit, whose introduction is as follows: "In the wake of nearly 22 years of brutal civil war the Southern Sudanese population lay shattered and strewn across the Central and East African landscape.

Over 2.5 million lives have been claimed, and another 5 million are internally and externally displaced by that conflict.   Since January of 2003 a new exodus has been unfolding in Western Sudan caused by the same regime responsible for the Southern tragedy and by using many of the same tactics - insecurity - genocide.

The hands of millions are now out-stretched in need of assistance to avert the worst man-made humanitarian disaster in the world today."

View this haunting slideshow of his exhibit.
